Since I was young, makeup fascinated me.  I remember being told at the age of 7, if I missed ballet class, I would have to take a “makeup class”.  The first time I missed I was so excited to go play with lipstick, shadows and blush. To my disappointment I found out that “makeup class” really meant making up an actual ballet class and that there would be no makeup involved whatsoever.  Well if what they say is true, that "everything you need to know you learn in Kindergarten", I was on to something!

Hanging with Gunnar Peterson

I love working with Gunnar Peterson.  Not only is he an amazing personal trainer but he is also a crack up on set.  If you have ever seen an interview of his or had the opportunity to meet him you would notice this immediately.  He likes to keep things fun, which makes my job even more fun!

We don't often have the opportunity to "dress up" Gunnar.  So it was fun to take this shoot out of the Gym for a more "fashionable look".

All American Handyman

Just wrapped on "All American Handyman".  It was the season's first show filmed in Los Angeles.

You can imagine it was not the most "makeup-centric" makeup show, but the host Anitra Mecadon was awesome to work with and all the contestants were a lot of fun!

I was delighted when my friend Shelli Bergh asked me to help create her look for the Oscar's. We decided on a somewhat "trendy" side swept hairstyle and classicaly glamourous makeup. The finished look was youthful yet sophisticated and all around gorgeous. It is easy when you have something great to start with!

To my delight I was asked to recreate the "Chuck Norris Mullet" for my shoot last week. The Cloo network, known for their action and mystery programs was doing a promo for Norris's show, "Texas Walker Ranger".

My favorite Makeup Pal, Kristina Frisch expressing the mood of the day. A bit frustrating to say the least. Notice there is no sun anywhere in these shots. Our poor talent froze in their fur bikinis. I can't say what the job was for, but I will say that the idea was a tropical island with hot chics on it. Let's just say the chics were "hot" but frozen and the island was anything but tropical this day! Fingers crossed for post!

The Beauty Bus

I had the joy of working with Beauty Bus this week. Beauty Bus is a non-profit organization that offers beauty and spa treatments to people with illness and impairments as well as their caretakers. So often the only touch a sick person gets is from their doctor or nurse. The Beauty Bus offers an opportunity for these people to feel pampered and maintain dignity. To escape for a moment in time. It also allows caretakers who rarely have time for themselves to be pampered and cared for too.

Just finished working with Tracey Mallett on the second series of her workout DVD "The Booty Barre".

"The Booty Barre" is well rounded, combining pilates, yoga, dance and weights to create a fun and challenging workout!

Life is a Cabaret! For the Jenner/Kardashian bunch especially! I had the pleasure of working with Kris as she took to the stage in a Cabaret Benefit in Los Angeles.

Beautiful Bride, Gorgeous Location and Picture Perfect weather made for a great day. Anita, the bride, wanted a Romantic Goddess Vibe for her special day so we swept her hair into an asymmetrical cascade of curls and gave her a classically romantic yet dramatic makeup look.

Bringing it all home...

After the arrival of my daughter last April I have had to restructure my life as I knew it. (For the time being anyway!) Not wanting to give up work, I decided to bring my work home to me. I started to give local makeup seminars to women in my community. After a recent article posted in our "Palisadian Post" Newspaper about me and my business I have received an overwhelming response from women all over asking me for makeup consultations and hiring me for my makeup services. I am so flattered and excited to see where this new venture takes me. Thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way!

Small World!

Some days you realize just how small a world Hollywood can be. Here is a photo of two of my clients Gunnar Peterson and Tracey Mallett, who just so happened to be shooting in the same location, on the same day but for different shows! Worked out great for me! They had never met before, so it was fun making the introduction and bringing my worlds together.

"Pop Up Pals!"

My job is not always about lipstick and eyeshadow. Sometimes it is about runny noses and dirty hands...real glamorous I know! But how can you deny working on a commercial with a bunch of really cute kids and toys? The only thing that would have made this job perfect is if my own daughter had come to visit the set. In the meantime I settled for my "pretend" children. I wonder if Skyla could tell I was cheating when I got home?

"Star Struck"

If you ever want to feel your age (or older) hang out on the set of a Disney Production. Shooting the promo for Sterling Knight and Brandon Mychal Smith's new movie, "Star Struck" I learned the latest "Tween" lingo. Apparently the word "Styz" means style. As in "that girl has great styz." I plan to work it into my everday lingo on a regular basis!
